Hello lovelies! I know I say this all the time, but I’m sorry that I suck so much at blogging. I just get so busy with school and life that I neglect this place. It’s a curse… but, it means that I’m keeping myself busy and that’s a good thing… right? I’ve also been trying to change the site around a little, using some add-ons from wordpress. I’ve added a couple of new things, but I haven’t implemented them into the site yet. Hopefully, I can get a flikr gallery plug-in to work (I’m cursed!) so that I can add more freebies and do some of those neat picture projects you see online. Right now I just don’t have enough space, and since I’m a poor student, I don’t want to pay for space, so we’ll just do the best we can with what we got! I’m also working on a 101 in 1001 list, so hopefully you will see that soon!
The cooking adventure was a great one. We made so many awesome meals and everything was lovely. I’ll tell you what, that Amanda over at KevinAndAmanda.com really knows what she’s talking about! Every meal that I made from her website was fabulous. Her directions we so easy to follow, too. Anything that gets posted over there is something I will try! That girl is awesome.
Out of the list, the tomato cream sauce pasta was our favorite. It was COMPLETELY out of this world!
In my obsession with food, Ryan and I decided to try the Village Cafe here in Richmond. It was featured on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The food was awesome – I totally see why it was featured. I would recommend splitting anything you get there – the food is huge (I have a facebook picture to prove it)!
As you all know, Halloween is coming up. Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday of all-time, period. I love every aspect of it. With that said, I am hoping to host the coolest Halloween party. I will certainly be showing you guys pictures. Ryan and I have brainstormed some ideas and we’re getting pretty far in the planning stage. We’re going to make the big balcony a grave yard, the small one will be decorated with pumpkins and the inside of the apartment will be decked-out like a haunted house. We are so excited! I’ve already started making the lists of decorations we have and need, as well as making the invitations. Sadly, we’ve put more effort into the party than we have the costumes. I’m not a skinny girl – so I can’t wear all those slutty costumes. You wouldn’t believe how that narrows the choices for costumes! Haha.
Do you guys have any suggestions to what Ryan and I should be for Halloween? We don’t want the costumes to be too hot, because our apartment will probably get pretty warm with all of the people here. If you have some good ideas, let me know!
Richmond living is going OK. We live in the Fan, so our apartment building and such is old. I want a nicer place next year, but it’s really hard to find a reasonably priced, modern, apartment in the Fan. We are hoping to not have to drive to school so that we can save on gas. It’s really nice being within walking distance because I can just walk home whenever I want. It’s only a 15 minute walk, so it’s not bad at all. There’s a band next door though, and they always seem to have to practice whenever I have an exam. It’s annoying – the play so loud it shakes our windows. So, since we have a provision in our lease that lets us get out of it and only pay a $100 fee, we’re looking for a new place. Ours is fine for the two of us, but I’m such a Suzie Homemaker that I want a chic, modern apartment that feels like a nice new home. I know it’s probably unrealistic considering I’m a grad student, but we can dream… right?
I have to go to lab in 1 hour, so I better go. Have a good week!

Trust me, no one can suck at blogging as much as I do! Lol. At least you have an excuse (not that you need one, but you know what I mean!).
The cooking adventures sound like fun, I’ll have to check out that website you mentioned later on. I’m a really bad cook, so anything that’s easy to follow with clear instructions is win in my book! Your plans for Halloween sound like a lot of fun too; I wish we celebrated the holiday more here in Australia. I’m afraid I don’t really have any suggestions for costumes though – the only Halloween costume I’ve ever made (term used loosely!) was a mad scientist and I used it for 3 years in a row. *hides* I can understand not wanting a slutty costume though. I’m not exactly skinny either, so the sort of costumes you’re referring to don’t appeal to me much either (on me at least that would be too scary even for Halloween! hahaha). Maybe you could take a look at some movies and see if any of the character costumes could be a possibility?
Anyway, good luck with finding a new apartment, hopefully you can find something that’s nice but affordable! Have fun in your lab too.
Ciao!
I love halloween too, but one of my coworkers is having her non-halloween themed wedding on halloween this year, so I’m missing out. Boo
and how often does halloween fall on a saturday.
I LOVE Hallowe’en too, tho this year I am passing on the torch of the haunted house which I presided over the past 2 year at my daughter’s school. This year I’m going to be the cotton candy booth lady.
But what WILL I wear?? Eeek, so few shopping days left.
I am going to check out that site you mentioned. I never have any idea what to make for meals so if I can find some easy recipes I will be very happy.
Good luck finding a better apartment! It would really suck living next to noisy neighbors. My building is really quiet.
Food. Yes. I love food. *heartsfood*
Speaking of Halloween . . candycandycandycandy. I like to eat a a fiew pieces of the candy before the trick-or-treaters come. . .
Maybe Will and Elizabeth from PotC? That would be cute, and lightweight if you were Elizabeth in her pirate getup.
Aw, sometimes we just don’t blog as much as we want. Just blog when you have something to say. We’ll be here! Don’t worry!
You’re making me hungry!
I’m glad you’re liking Richmond. I like it there. I have family that live in Richmond.
Man! All of this talk about food(cooking or restaurant) is making me hungry! LOL!
Oh man, Halloween sounds crazy for you! Hehe! Have fun planning it! =)
Yeah, 15 minutes definitely isn’t bad… That’s how long it takes me from where I park(a bit off campus, but not so far off), to get to the building I usually go to.
Good luck with finding a new place! I’d HATE it if a band lived next to me!!
halloween sounds like so much fun!
everytime i’d watch halloween scenes in a movie i’d envy those who actually get to celebrate it…
it always seems like it’s impossible to find the perfect yet cheap house… go figure!
